Hey all,

I recently heard a rumor that Ducati will be doing another contest for air cooled bikes similar to the Monster Challenge. Does anyone know anything about it?
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

IM guessing they will have to drop the full trellis frame requirement.  [laugh]

And you believed him?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I can say there has been talk about something similiar -- but not a "Monster Challenge" specifically.  It would be open to any custom modified bike -- not just vintage or SBK-oriented racebikes.  (The past two years have been "superbike concourso" events)  One of the problems with the monster-only event was the lack of participation at a few events or the quality of all the bikes wasn't "top notch".  Thus this would be open to all heavily modified Monster, HyperMotard, HyperFighter, MultiStroodles, etc as well.

Second part would be a "kid's competition" involving those plastic kid toy Monsters that are so cool.

Nothing I've heard was in the budget though for 2009.  Requests / proposals were supposedly submitted.  Will see what happens.

I still can't remember who it was. It may have been Mark from Moto Creations as we've spoke over the past week or so as well. He seems to know a little about it so I'm guessing it was him and not Randall.

Not I.  It's been @8-10 weeks ago since I talked with someone at Ducati in regard to it.  Thus I know a proposal was offered for budgeting purposes.  Hopefully it would happen as I think with the new 696/1000 Monster, HyperMotard and other newer bikes (and that cool little kid Monster toy!) -- it would be welcome again.

We could do a DMF contest with the kiddie monsters.  The battery powered peg perego ones and the newer unpowered riding ones this year.

Could be fun contest.

I feel there should be a race, possibly a team event, one bike. Once around the track with the kid on it, then again, with the parent.
