I thought the guy at Welle said it was a common something on a car :P

I try to stay away from working on those contraptions.  [bang]

30mm = 1.181"

1.188" = 1-3/16"  so a 1-3/16" socket would also work, only .007 too big which is probably closer than the mfg. tolerance on a socket that big...

I picked up a 30mm socket at NAPA.  Thanks for the penny tip.  I will use it this weekend if I can find the time between kids sports and wife's home projects.

Desmoelmer thanks for the penny tip.  It worked great while torquing to 140 Ft-lb.
I had to pick up a set of impact sockets as the new lighter flywheel used 2 separate nuts (36 &38mm) instead of the original split 30mm.
I will report back on feel of light flywheel after I get the bike out in the spring.
