S2R800 sprocket - 14 front vs 43 rear

Hey everyone.  After about 6 months of riding with the stock sprockets on my '07 S2R 800 I just installed the 14T front that everyone keeps singing about in order to help out the low end / stop and go situations.

The 14T definitely helped that, but I think it's almost a bit too much.  I like how it smoothed out the slow speeds, but going through the twisties I wish I had a bit more range out of each gear and didn't have to shift as often.

What I'm looking for is something sort of in between the stock 15/41 and my new 14/41.  Would 15/43 accomplish this?

Next question after that - would I be able to do 15/43 without getting a new chain or is that a requirement?

41/15=2.73
41/14=2.93
43/15=2.87

so yes, 43/15 will give you a bit more range out of each gear, but not much.
