I just bought a set of Vertigo Corsa Air, but I can't tell if they are too big. Could someone offer their opinion.

I normally wear an 11, but I bought a 11.5 because of a bunion on my left foot.  Right now, the boot is putting a little pressure on the bone when I walk around.

ok i just about 2 weeks ago got a set of sidi vertigo corsa regular.

first of all, amazing boot. worth every penny and thats a lot of g-d pennies.

second what euro size did you ordeR? boot sizes can vary, and even the claimed US size to euro size
can vary with manufacturer, which is just plain annoying.

I wear a size 11 on the street. i am comfortable at this size, i wear 11.5 in some tight brands,
i wear a 10.5 in some loose brands. I have ridden 10.5 snowboard boots and they are hell,
i have to go in after a few hours due to toe pain. 11.0 in snowboard is perfect, and my main pair are this size

thats the backround, i heard sidis fit a bit big, so i ordered size 44euro which is like a 10 on their 'us' chart
the boot in my room feels like it is right on the brink; i cannot decide if it is too small or just perfect. after
an hour or so in the house my toes start to feel pressure. not pain but i wonder if the boots are too small.

once on the bike, the ankle arches, the heel slides well back into the heel cup, the toes have plenty, or just
the perfect amount of wiggle room, and the boots are 100% the perfect size. once i get off, the boots fit fine
but if i take them off to eat or talk, and put them back on, they are back to a hair to tight. i have to ride a minute to get my
heel snug back. i reccomend a half size small for the PERFECT riding size

thats my personal experience with the boot, ymmv as always of course, i hope you like the boot. i love it
i would have got a pair of airs, but they were out of stock. the regulars are good in all weather except super hot
i had to choose not good in super hot or not good in rain. ill need to pick up a perforated boot in the future i supose.

safe riding

Yeah, boots are not the kinda thing that you want to fit loose on you; imagine broken ankles and twisted ligaments. Remember leather is supposed to break in into the form of your foot. So if the boots feel a little loose now that they are new, they will fit a lot looser later on.

Let me know If you plan on getting rid of them, I'm actually in the market.

Sidi's are made with a synthetic material called Lorica....I personally don't find that it stretches very much from your foot....over the years it does stretch a tiny amount near the buckles where a lot of pressure is being put on the material.

great shoes though!

I have the Vortices in a 44 since the 43 was way too tight for me but i had a problem with too much room in the toe area.  What i did was throw a dr scholls insert in there and now they fit PERFECTLY.  Give it a shot if you feel you need to go a size up!

I haven't had any overheating issues in my non-air vertigos in 30+C temps. IIRC, the mega-gores are the waterproof versions, so I can't imagine them venting much at all. The airs will be wet in the rain I would think.

I too have the non-airs and have never felt like they were too hot.  I mean c'mon, it's your feet.

And yeah, I'd think with the airs your feet would get mega-douched in the rain.

I rode in rain last September in Indy at the MotoGP race in my non-airs and my socks were almost soaked when I got back to the hotel.  And that was only about a 2 mile ride.

I've done some good rides in the rain in the standard vertigo's and thought they were quite good at being water repellent (vents closed, riding balls of feet on pegs) bit of water in the back....

the airs are definitely a 30+ day / summer option boot.

and the gore is the water proof....

...so get the standards and then as the wardrobe expands get specialised boots after! and then more colours too! (the black white vortices are talking to me!)

also...the new vortices have a replaceable sole (hex bolts) whilst the vertigos don't - I do believe you can buy replacement soles and get a shoe repairer to install them (is that right? was it Statler that did this?)

maybe i sweat more than you, but after 1-2hrs in 80+ (f) weather, i can see a dry circle around the vent area, on an otherwise totally damp sock. but the boots are so fantastic ill have no problems dropping another 400 bones on some airs in time for next riding season if not this one  [thumbsup]
