that's right I saw your girl kat

I thought she moved to Cali or somethin?

Oh on a related side note

I picked up a fancy battery tender when i was at Motocorsa and it says that battery of Dave's is good

When I put it on the charger it was just in maintenance mode not even trying to fully charge it

but

the battery tester says it is only holding 2 volts and it wont even turn on the lights when installed on a bike

So I don't get it

Do you want me to get it back to you and maybe your charger will have better luck with it?

NEIKOS

I have that very same charger.

Not sure what happened.  I used it to start my bike 1/2 dozens times or so and kept it trickle charging since.

It's like I told Lucky - the Battery Tender indicated it was above 85% charge . . .

i don't get it either.

Sorry.  I wouldn't have offered it if'n I'd known it wasn't gonna work.

Mother

No worries, I really appreciate the attempt

i'm going to put it on the charger over night and see if the light goes solid green

if it recharges i'll get it back to you

NOTE: The following is provided this battery doesn't have an internal short or any other terminal failure like that.

If the voltage has dropped WAY too low, the battery tender won't recognize the need to charge it.  It's one of the limitations with "smart" automatic tenders.

Fix: put it on an old-skool manual trickle charger for several hours to get it up to a voltage where the Tender recognizes it.

If you don't have a stone-age trickle charger that will do this, take it to a battery shop where they have more equipment.

Oh hey... I just remembered... my Dad's manual auto battery charger has a 2-amp mode, and that'd work, too.  If you wanted to drop it off, I could try forcefeeding it 2 amps for a couple hours, then see if a Tender will take it over from there.

Yep.  That's the battery.

that battery is cursed. Before i gave it to you i took it down to Battery Exchange and they hooked it up to thier charger, said it was putting out 12V, i told them to hook it up anyways. I came back 8 hrs later, they tested it and showed me it was fully charged. Doesnt mean it will keep a charge though i guess, probably bad cell....sorry guys.

I think that was the closest state the restraining order would allow her to be from me.  ;D

Last night Elias was saying something about being able to mount your tires for something like $7.00 .... not sure where he pulled that number out of his ass..... but he might have meant $7.00 plus a reach around.   [thumbsup]
