Looks like my trip to Indy Motogp has been shitcanned, so I've got a few extra bucks and think it's time to do a new rear shock. I've already checked into a Ohlins 46HRC for it and I'll spend the bucks if I need to, but was looking for other alternatives. I think the Penske is probably a bit too pricey, especially for the mostly city riding I do. Ran across a Fox a couple of months ago. Any other rational choices?  The bike is a '00 M750

620M 2004 Dark i.e.; ~ 57K miles (all me);  Looking to swap out engine now.
Triumph Speed Triple 2006 (now ~ 44K miles bought @ 4K miles on 04/2010)
Honda Grom 2015 ~ 3500miles so far.  Love this lil bike

Wilbers might have something, no idea on how much $.

Maybe WP has something?

Or Works Performance?

Penske may be willing to do something simple for lower $.
AFAIK they build to order , and their parts are kinda modular.
Try giving 'em a phone call maybe they'll have something.

Get your stocker rebuilt and revalved?

Good suspension will improve city riding too.  [beer]

You can get a less expensive Ohlins model and it will still be a big improvement.

If you can grab a fox racing shock for a good price, id say pick it up. I had one on my 95, 900 and with the sbk cartridges in the forks, the bike RAILED corners. everything was valved and sprung to my weight too.

The Fox I ran across is somewhere in Australia :'(

I'm trending towards a Hyperpro or Hagon I think.

I know my frame is based on 851/888 model, so would a Showa built for one of those also fit?

Just got a reply from the Hagon distributor...price is a winner @ $441

QuoteHagon monoshocks are fully rebuildable and feature straight weight spring
with adjustable spring preload (threaded manual or hydraulic remote
adjuster), adjustable 15 position LINKED compression and rebound damping
(one adjuster for both) and a two year unlimited mileage warranty against
failure due to manufacturing defect. Bent shocks due to accident, impact,
dropped bike, improper installation or owner malfunction will not be
warranteed.  Shocks are not returnable once they have been fitted.   All
adjusting tools are included with the shock.

You can see representative Hagon monoshocks online at

bdfinally, the DU046 is not the correct shock for you '00 M750. You need the DU440. The DU440 is for the DS singarm with the 'hoop' style height adjuster. The DU046 is a different length and is suited for the newer style swingarm with the rod style height adjuster.

Yes an 851/888 shock will fit and be valved/sprung better than one for a newer SBK.

i also currently run a fox in the rear and it handles quite nicely, although i havent ridden an ohlins sprung bike so gotta take that with a grain of salt
