Well, today I took the nipple off the tank to try and figure out what size it is. Nobody could tell me.  It's a rather random size that isn't common apparently. So that kind of kills my idea for putting it right at the outlet for the tank unless I get someone to cut off the existing thread and put on something more common which I don't want to do. 

As for the part numbers that pompetta used:

FT-LCD220-05: $11.15

They also sell plastic ones which are less expensive.

I THINK that if you wanted to save a bit of coin, you could go with a shutoff on only 1 side and get a

It'll save you $8 but you'll spill a bit of gas that's in the line.
