I am considering some new boots for riding.  For longer rides and most of my commutes to work I am considering Sidi Vertigos.  I am considering a pair of Shift Kickers (all Black) for when i need to ride to meetings, trainings, etc but don't have time or facilities to change out of my riding pants.  I could wear the Shift Kickers with Jeans or Khakis and possibly Icon knee/leg armor underneath.  I know I sacrifice some protection with the Shift Kickers but they seem better than the Shift Fuels.  What do you guys think?

I know jeans will have to be very baggy to fit armor underneath.

Other than the lower safety, those Kickers seem ok.

My Vertigos are waterproof and I'm glad, unless it's really warm weather. Then I flex my ancle a bit to get some air flow down in the boots. Over all a great boot [thumbsup] They are a small and very narrow fit though.

Sidi Vertigos are very nice Boots but they are somewhat on the narrow side.

I have and wear a pair of black size 48s. Very comfortable w, air vents that slide open or closed

My feet are a little on the wider side.  I wear anywhere from US 9.5 to 10.  Unfortunately, I can't find a place to try a 44 locally.  I have tried the Vortices in 45 and they were fine width wise, just too long.  I'll keep hoping someone gets a 44 in.

I have the Sidi Vertigos as well.  The ventilation on them is nice, but as everyone else says, they are narrow.  I like them, and they are good boots, but the front of my foot is pretty squished in them.  I would still recommend them, but make sure they fit.  As my second pair, I have some pumas (forget which ones) that are all black with the black puma stripe to be more stealthy for work.

I have been looking into some pants or leg armor as well.  I've been looking into the bahn body armor.  I think it might fit better under my jeans than the fieldsheer stuff.  That was what I was originally looking at though.  The fieldsheer stuff is a lot cheaper than the bahn stuff though.
