Have a 2006 S2R1000. Am looking to purchase a 43 tooth rear sprocket for it. Anyone have an aftermarket source? The DP 43 tooth sprocket for this bike is priced like it's machined from gold bullion!! ($238)

Good link. Nice article on the site on the left of the page from Sport Rider re. gearing changes. The 15T to 14T mod on my 97 m750 was great! I'm thinking of one day trying the rear from stock 38 >41. Anyone else have both front and rear similar to that?

Yep.  97M750 with 14/41 setup here.
It works well for the riding i do in the mountains. My commute to work is 14 miles of mostly straight road. The 14/41 setup is a bit short for that tho, the RPM'S are way up at 70 to 80 MPH and top end is about 105 - 110 MPH.
I keep a 15 tooth front on hand just in case someone plans a long ride.

Many thanks to the previous two respondents for suggesting California Cycle Works and Sprocket Center. Unfortunately, CCW has no listing whatsoever for the S2R1000, and SC has a listing only for a 520 conversion sprocket. I was hoping to find a 525 pitch sprocket so that I wouldn't have to junk my chain and front countershaft sprocket which have only 4000 miles on them.

Anyone have another source by chance?

I bought a carrier & sprocket from motorsports machine through ebay about a year ago and it has been great.  1st class work and cheaper than the sprocket alone.  I had a 42 stock and went to their 43.

Give Chris at CCW a call.  Not in the catalogue does not mean he can't get it for you or send you to someone else.

Correct... we just got in the new "Stealth" SSS type rear sprockets in 525 pitch 43T and 44T. $169. Not entirely sure of exact inventory status, as Candice is doing great and taking on more work -- so I can keep up with my computer "upgrades". Please call or send an email in to us asking about it. Candice will get back to you on it.

And yes, our catalog is a little bit frozen in time... I'm working on totally new technology, and too many things have been vying for my attention, interrupting the programming. :)

Also, these are going to be occasionally backordered, but thanks to many S*R owners, we're showing the US importer that there are enough sales to warrant larger and larger orders of them with the manufacturer. ;D

Thanks Howie!

Remember, with chain and sprockets for the S2R1k, you can always look at the S4R parts. Same thing in 525...
