Tough call...you do have a sweet looking bike,at the same time you will be getting the new breed Monster.Umm...Great reviews on the 696,classic look on the 620,i would toss the coin on this one.Better yet,go for the new breed, you can always go back and start a new 620 project. ;D

stating the obvious: the 696 looks like the factory tried to copy what you've done to your 620.
just sayin'.. it's like.. the same, only.. different.

I wouldn't do it.  The 696 is basically the same as your 620, and will cost you a lot more in mods to personalize it.  620s are nice bikes.

If you like the upgrades and style of the 696, wait until fall when Ducati announces their new models.  There will probably be an 1100 Monster coming out with the new style.  Hopefully even cooler with a SSS.  That's all speculation of course, but waiting to see can't hurt.

Hey ... thanks for talking sense into me folks. I picked up my 620 from the dealer today. 6K service, new tires ... and it feels like a new bike. I know this is a personal decision for each person, heck I might wait til next year and snag the new 1100 Monster my dealer is dropping hints about. But for now, the classic look wins!

Hmmmm...... I will most likely keep my M620 and get the 696 as a second bike. But then too, my M620 is also my first bike. [moto]
Look! up on the Highway! My word! It's insane! No! It's a Monster....

If you're upgrading from a 620 go with an s2r1000 or the likes.  If you are upgrading, no reason to go entry level to entry level.  Unless of course you really love the new looks.

this is the best statement yet [thumbsup]
