Yeah I read that article too, I would have liked to have seen an M1100 in the mix especially considering the Monster is the originator of the naked category!

I'm a complete DUMB F>>CK!

I ran out of fuel AGAIN..................This time on Anzac bridge going up the hill on my way home. It was 12:30am and the servo on Abercrombie St was closed. I was hoping to get the BP on Victoria Rd but to no avail.

Fortunately, it was really late and I didn't get rear ended. Come to think of it if it wasn't so late I would have been able to fill up at the Shell on Abercrombie as I'd planned.

On a surprising side a friendly bloke stopped, helped me load the bike into the back of his ute and drove me to the servo.......I couldn't believe it. I was surprised how light the S4RS is!

I wonder if I can bolt on a superbike tank...... nar can't ruin her looks like that!

Mental note to self......MUST STOP TO FILL UP ON ORANGE LIGHT BEFORE I DO 10KM ON THE RESERVE

Dan I am so amazed you run out that quickly and often.
Three times recently I have hit 30k's over reserve light.

Matty - How the hell do you manage those big kms? I get around 20kms max on the reserve light (i ran out at 16km last time!).

On the weekend 700km ride i was using around 1.5L more per 100km than the CBR1000. That was roughly 7.5L/100km on the open road in the stints where i was doing the 110 speed limit. My bike must be running hell rich although that was on 95 and not 98 (servo didn't have any) so perhaps that's why i got less distance  ???

Open road I usually get around 180 sometimes more sometimes less depend on the twist of the wrist.
City I'll usually get 120-140.
Using mostly Caltex 95-98 but I also like to use BP where I can.

Maybe it's the good tune the bike had a longtime ago.
It's still open airbox and full system, so I can't really tell you the difference other than a tune by Dyno Dave.

dragonworld.

Hmmm, the M1000S gets around the same K's per tank And reserve) in similar situations!! Interesting?  ???
Secret to a long relationship is........Keep the fights clean and the sex DIRTY"!

yeah this bike has always been pretty good on fuel.
maybe I don't ride fast enough  [evil]

Spider

I get 160k in city riding then 30k reserve....so 190 in my riding per 13 litre tank.....but nearly got the 280k on highway on the portland trip. (260 by the time I pulled in and still had 750ml - 1 litre left. and I've got a pc3 coming....

and I now understand why Dos doesn't use Shell.....my god the bike is running better!  [thumbsup]

Nothing wrong with jockey weight!
But yeah having 20-40kg's less than some is a plus.
