Like I need more to do....cept...well I do.

I like 2 smokers, cept the EPA doesn't.

I don't have a pile of cash to buy an old RV500

I do have access to some RZ350 stuff, an entire bike, etc.  Wondering out loud what would be a good chassis to put that motor into.  That way I could plate it, ride it on the road, etc.

New ninja 250?
FZR400 ?

Or maybe put some modern bits on a RZ350 along with some modern looking bodywork?

I have seen some RZ 350's with older R6 shocks, forks and rims. I am Jonesing for a 2 stroke in the worst way. Looking for a RZ/RG 500. Also NSR 400 Honda. We still got 2 strokes in Canada, long after they were verboten in the land of the free.

I had a lot of 350's back in the day in South Africa. The RZ(power valve) was a better overall motor than the RD350LC. But the LC was easier to modify, porting and pipes. Good luck finding a decent one.

I like 2 strokes too.  I have no idea how well a RZ would mount, chain drive side etc, but maybe the SV650 frame?  I like the way they look and there must be lots of suspension bits available for them.   A friend rides a red/white Roberts RZ and it sounds like many newer banshee parts are interchangeable.

you dont mention location

i am guessing USA ??

can you even get the RZ 350 rego there ?

that would be my first option and work from there

otherwise i would just be scouting ebay till a dead engined bike rolled up that i would consider worth doing something with

who says its gotta have bodywork ,  bare naked noisy 2 smoker thats my choice  [thumbsup]
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

MotoCreations

Just find some ex-racer 250GP suspension (swingarm and fork/triples) and bodywork and build yourself a TigCraft (MiniMoto) style tubular frame.

One of my favorite bikes I built @20 years ago was an ex-race TZ250 with a SRX600 thumper transplant.  It was a proverbial surgeons scalpel in comparison to everything on the road.  Later sold to a roadracer who campaigned for years at Sears/Thunderhill and other Bay Area races.

do a search on scout24.de

I love 2-strokes.  If I had money, I'd have a GT750, RD350/400, RZ350, RG500, and maybe a few more ~

My GT550 project.  Donor bike on the left, the one on the right will be hitting the streets again in about a month.
