since I gather from the pics that you guys are talking about the inspection sticker and bot the registration month/year sticker in the corner of the license plate...

Texas Transportation Code Section 548.255

§ 548.255. ATTACHMENT OR PRODUCTION OF INSPECTION
CERTIFICATE.  (a) An inspection certificate shall be attached to or
produced for a vehicle in the manner required by department rule.
   (b)  The department shall:
      (1)  require that a certificate for a motorcycle be
attached to the rear of the motorcycle near the license plate;  and
      (2)  adopt rules with respect to display of an
inspection certificate for a moped.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.

Also, Scott here is the answer to your other question

Transportation Code 548.801(d)
(d)  A motorcycle may not be operated at any time unless at
least one headlamp on the motorcycle is illuminated.  This
subsection does not apply to a motorcycle manufactured before the
model year 1975.

Yup, there's the law to backup the regulations I stated earlier. Good find.  [thumbsup]

Well, I can pull that plate out further on a moment's notice, such as getting pulled over.  I 'll worry about that when it happens.
