I'd be willing to be an admin for the build board.

The guidlines would simply be this.

If your engine and frame are separated, it qualifies.

I'd like to add that photos are required.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

although i don't think it should require engine/frame separation, but if the engine remains in the frame, then EVERYTHING else should be gone.

That sounds good.  I'll throw up the poll in General now... tell your friends!

I think it sounds a little light myself.

To me build means to fabricate.

When you fabricate you do neat stuff like make rearsets, cut stuff up and weld it back together, build an exhaust, triples, or a frame like RMartin.

Taking a bike apart and putting it back together in a new color, or with a vinyl wrapped forks and swingarm, or all the store bought bling in the world isn't a 'build'. That's just mods.

We can discuss that later.

Good luck with the poll.

ok, but i did this with my s2r when i first got it...before i ever put more than 100 miles on. in the end, all i did was mess with the wiring and chop the tail. not what i consider a "build"

in contrast, there was some guy who got his at about the same time. he tore it down just like i did. He then upgraded EVERYTHING, and did a custom paint job too i think.

i guess a "build" to me would have to be some major changes to the bike...

After some discussion, we decided a sticky thread to track the build threads was the way to go. If we get enough threads, or maintaining the sticky gets to be a PITA, we might revisit the subforum idea.

(Which is mod-speak for "never!"  [evil])
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...
