F*#@ing Helmets!

It's been a while since I've been around. I was overseas for quite some time!

I came home all excited about jumping on the S4RS again after 6 months in mothballs. I headed to my room grabbed my helmet (SHOEI TZ-1) threw it on my head & the whole lining disintegrated & landed all over my head, shoulders, the floor, everywhere! I was devastated! My trusty old friend gave up the ghost while I was away & gave me one hell of a mess to clean up!

So I reluctantly got in the car & went shopping. After trying on about 600,000 different F*#@ing helmets & 1 gay sales guy telling me I look good in that, (I don't care what it looks like to you mate but your not getting any from me!) there she was the perfect fit! Oh & how her lines seduced me! A nice tight entry, a firm grip all the way in & a soft but firm feeling that left me with little puffy cheeks & a broad smile. I was going home with a new SHOEI XR-1100.

Moral of the story... when they get old & loose get a younger model!

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

My 1100 needed the breath guard and the chin flap extras to be usable in winter. Without the breath guard riding on cold mornings was quite dicey for 5-10 minutes until the helmet heated up and likewise, the chin flap also stopped my lower neck from freezing. Did you use them?

My older AGV had that all as standard at half the price but you needed neck muscles like a All-Black prop for longer rides.

Sundog,

Im in QLD so hopefully I dont need the chin flap, but I may look into the breath guard if I need it during our mild winters up here.

As for the AGV, I have one of those too... I make my pillions wear it. It tries to strangle me if I wear it. It is not even close to the fit & comfort of the SHOEI but every head is different... right?
