Saw this in this month's US MCN, might be a good thing to have around the garage for anyone that stores their gas and have a plastic tank.

MCN tested it and said it worked... they poured water into gas and then it filtered out the water from the gas with only tiny amounts that got through.  But they also said that it works best on water that has already settled.

I wonder if a 2 stroke mixture I mixed, if it would strain the oil out for use in the bike/car/whatever?!?!?!

My friend uses them all the time mixing fuel for his Norton.  They work pretty darn well.  I don't know if they would work separating oil from gas - I doubt it as it is a solution instead of a suspension.
This isn't a dress rehearsal for life - this is it!

MCN used mixed 2 stroke oil/gas to test (they said that the bluish tint of the 2 stroke oil made it easier to see the water) and it doesn't filter out the oil.

Airborne

It works. It is very common in aviation to use this tool after sumping the fuel tanks in an airplane to separate any condensation found in sitting avgas.
