New Monster owner in Phoenix AZ

HI there everyone.  Im not new to motorcycles but i am new to the Ducati community.  I have some questions concerning my 1997 Monster M750.  I'm also looking to find fellow Duc rider's in my local community.  I was hoping someone could shed some light on a few things for me.  I plan on doing my own maintenance, but i am unclear of a few things.  First, what size valve shims do i need?  7mm or 8mm diameter?  Also, where is a good place to order replacement parts from?  I'm pretty sure my bike will need the valves and belt done soon so the sooner someone could point me in the right direction, the better.
