Hi, My name is Russ, I am from central PA.  I currently do not have a bike, but I am looking at a 2002 M750 Dark.  A local honda/suzuki dealer has the M750 for sale for $4100.  Anyway this will be my first street bike, but I grew up riding dirt bikes and racing motocross.

Also, is there anything specific to the M750 that I should check when I look at it?  What do you guys think of the price?

welcome to the board. you should check out the local clubs section for folks in your area. also, check out the monsters for sale section for a bike. as for things to check out...unless you can get detailed maintenance records, plan on replacing the belts at a minimum. finally, i think the asking price sounds kind of high. again, check out the monsters for sale here on the board.
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

do some shopping

$4k for an M750 is high, depending on what that bike has... check craigslist and ebay for comparative pricing

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Thanks.  I have been looking on CL and cycletrader to compare prices, but I have not been able to find any M750s withing 300 miles, a couple M620s and S2s and S4s, but no 750s.

The M750 is a nice bike, but it's not particularly unique.  I've seen some S2R's go in the low $5000 range here and plenty of 620s in the mid 3000 range.  Why don't you want a 620?

No reason, the 620s that I have seen for sale are over 100 miles from me, I found the M750 6 miles from my house.
