I have the same bike, and have really not seen a need for the 14T. I've ridden about 2000 miles on it now around the NYC area...
I have to be at abt 30mph before I shift to 2nd, which is sometimes painful in traffic.

Have been looking at the thermi upgrade, but its still too pricy for me to invest in. The bike stock has good power for a beginner if you push the revs up. Wait till after the 600 mile service. I've started shifting at abt 6000 - 7000 rpm.
Stock 6000rpm and 5th gear will put you at 75 mph+ Shifting to 6th at this point, was lugging the engine as the rpms drop to abt 5000. The ducati tech told me that I shouldn't be shifting to 6th unless I'm over 85mph...

The only reason for my upgrade would be the sound. Probably in the next few years...

I always try to stay below the 6k power spike when cruising to save fuel. That's 6th gear for me. I don't understand the concept of staying in 5th at those RPMs. It doesn't lug, and if I need to pass quickly I downshift.

Broke my leg doing a slow speed u turn yesterday. Bike fell with all it's weight on my left leg. Bike looks GREAT though. No upgrades for me for some time :/

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear that! Glad to hear your bike's fine, though. Heal quickly so you're ready to ride in the Spring!
