I have a good friend that is a Sales Rep for a MAJOR sponsor.

Most of us have! Definitely worth the trip. Be sure to post up in advance so we can arrange a bike night. Also, check out the local resources thread for bike rentals, things to see, etc.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

Have your bike's registration in your pocket so you can park on Ducati island. Even without your bike, your registration will get you some very nice perks on the Island (breakfast, gourmet coffee, prize drawings and, ohhhhh, the Ducati girls  [thumbsup] ) and more.
Tour the whole place on Saturday so you know where you want to be on Sunday (good walking shoes are a must). If you want to be at the Corkscrew for Sunday's race you need to get there EARLY with all provisions so you don't have to leave.
Don't miss Cannery Row on Saturday night. What a hoot!  [thumbsup]

Oh, yeah - it will be hot.

Cold and misty in the morning and blazing hot in the afternoon.

Tastes as good as it sounds. Good for what ales you."

Visit the paddock Firday or Saturday early to see the riders and to get some swag and pics. Race day the riders are mostly in their trailers getting in the zone.
The weekend will fly by and before you know it, it will all be over.  :)

Make sure to make reservations at a hotel or the campsites early, like right now. They fill up quickly and can get very very expensive.

And if you have trouble getting something in Monterey or Carmel, try Salinas.

last year, 7 of us rented a KOA "Kamper Kabin" in Salinas - $143/night. Not bad  [thumbsup]

Nice! And if you're inclined to get an RV, I strongly suggest camping here:

Alternately, for car camping, this spot is good:

I like camping off-track, as it gives me some peace & quiet and better facilities.

Another tip: be VERY careful of LEOs that weekend. The CHP sets up numerous speed traps, especially around the motorcycle entrances to the track.
