just raced the multistrada s around the florida freeways for a while, as i'm down here for a few days of golf. that thing is FAST -- really unbelievable. it almost seems as if the clocks are off. i'll look down and realize i'm doing over 100 without even noticing. seems to get there faster than the panigale and less stressed out. but i just don't dig the upright seating position at speed like that. too bad there don't seem to be any roads down here that turn at all -- just long, straight highways around palm beach/lauderdale. i think tomorrow i'll go for a ride around lake okeechobee. maybe i can find some corners there, because this thing is flickable!

one thing i'm finding riding all of these other, non-monsters is A) i love my old m900 so much and B) the panigale really is the best of the new bikes. i still have yet to try out a streetfighter, but i think that'll be a little too upright for me too. the panigale is the only one that has the reach i get on my old monster, but doesn't force you to lie down on the gas tank the way the other superbikes do. i may put some risers on the pani to take just a little more pressure off my wrists...
Give me a shout if you know any good motorcycle detailers in the Westchester area.

The Streetfighter is way less upright than the Multistrada.  I've ridden both and they are completely different.

I too found the upright riding position of the Multistrada a bit... odd.  But I suspect it is something you can get used to because I've seen some vids of guys waxing literbikes on the track with them so they must be very capable bikes.  And it is fast as hell.  :D

multi is seriously fast as sh!t. it is shocking. i was doing 145 on the freeway here in so fla today and could not believe it. i've never gone that fast on any bike, except the s1000rr on the track and a panigale once. not that i ever really want to -- i just happened to be on an open stretch of highway and was able to open the throttle -- it happened instantly. amazing. but i don't really ever want to be in triple digits in real life situations.

gotta try the sf someday, but for now i think a pani and my monster are all i need. i'll just rent multis in the mountains -- it is REALLY BORING to ride in florida. deadly. i can only imagine riding here as a utility. can't wait to get back to the roads in the hills.

take the SF out for a ride, it really sounds like it might fit the bill for what you're looking for.

i will try it -- more and more it sounds like it may be the evolution of the monster. only issue is i want abs on a modern machine. it saved my ass today on the borrowed multi on 95...

I rode a multi when they were first released, and I have to say that I was completely amazed at how nimble it handled. For a bike upright bike you can really lay it down in the corners. I'm still convinced that it will be my next bike.
