and to think...it only takes about 2-3 minutes to shrink wrap your buddy into their car after they have passed out drunk in it to sleep off the evening!

I have thought about getting our trucks wrapped but the 3k price tag seems a bit steep, especially now that I know it only takes 2.5 hours........

It isn't the labor that drives the price.

It's the cost of the machines that print the stock.

And there is certainly less stuff to slow down the application process on a race car.  Fewer body gaps, no door handles, badges, etc.

All true!  Those large format printers and the inks must cost a ton of cash.  Although all things considered; it is a lot less expensive than the twin 60ft carbon fiber beams I am having built next year......

The coolest NASCAR thing I've ever seen was when Guido threw 4 tires/wheels up in the air, and swapped each existing tire/wheel out before the next came down.  Absolutely amazing!

I do this for a living, and the cost breakdown is about 65 % material cost to 35 % labour, I use Avery material specifically designed and manufactured for wrapping vehicles.

Race cars and Fleet company Vehicles are generally a lot easier to wrap as there are no stripping of parts to do and the edges are cut flush.

All printed vinyls are laminated to protect the print against scratches and fading color due to UV light. Race cars we never laminate as they are changed to often throughout a season.

Personal vehicles are stripped as if you are going to paint them and then wrapped, so after reassembly you will not notice the original paint color of the vehicle.
Thus the labour on personal vehicles are tripled.
