'03 monster 800sie vs. '06 s2r dark

hello all,

i'm new to riding, wanting to get a monster.  looking at craigslist lately and found an '03 800sie for 4.5k.  8000 miles, newly off 6k service, few upgrades, dropped once.  any opinions as to whether this is an ok deal?  input appreciated.  thanks.

edited:  alright so two different price points here.  there's an older 800, listed above, and then there's something much nicer, an '06 s2r 800 dark.  from what i'm seeing on this site an s2r dark stock (under 200 miles wow) should go for around 6k?  am i right?  anyways, if you guys would be kind enough to enlighten me on the pricing of an 06 s2r dark as well, that would be AWESOME.  think i might pull the trigger for 6k...  all input appreciated!

Well, it's not the exact model, but I paid $4500 over the weekend for a 2003 620.  That price was through a dealer and the bike has 12,000 miles.  Good luck with the 800!

get a little ninja, take the msf, save up for a monster. remember, you're gonna have to buy gear and insurance as well as the bike.

Probably a pretty good deal, buy it. My 03 800ie was my first bike, don't waste your time on a little Ninja.
