Hello friends,

I just picked up a Monster last week.   After owning about ten bikes in the last 5 years I believe I am where I should have been 5 years ago.  If that makes sense.  I have been buying and rebuilding vintage bikes. At first Hondas , then BMWs.   From 1969 up to 1980 models. My most recent was a bmw r100rs.  Before that a r90/6 and before that a r65.  I got sick of working of them.  Rebuilding carbs, checking before every ride. Working about what color smoke it would spit out any given day.

I told myself after selling the last one I would find myself a ducati and it must be fuel injected. That was my only requirement.   Oh and no tank debt.   Not easy to find really on a 4000$ budget.  But in the end it worked out.  Here is my new to me 2000 900ie.

It is really clean.  And 18000 miles with full service records.  2 owner bike always services by the same mechanic.  For me id rather have a bike with 18000 miles and full records than a bike with 8000 miles and no history of maintenance.  Nice to meet you and look forward to contributing.

Does anyone know where I can source a 3M kit for my tank? I've been wanting to get some protection on it before my kids do something silly.

That's a beautiful specimen. Some tasteful mods like the bar end mirrors and tail chop, and a nice super clean slate for you to start adding your own mods. Like an open clutch cover for starters :)  [thumbsup]

That thing is much better than my first Duc. It was a ratty 2001 900 but I rode the piss out of it until it got stolen.
