I'm looking at the Termi's for my 696.  I know they come in 3 flavors (CF, Titanium, Stainless) but I'm not sure what the difference is if any in performance or sound.  The CF and Stainless say that they are Racing use only, but if I'm not mistaken that's for Euro spec bikes, correct?  If it's only on looks, I like the titanium, but if performance and sound are affected, I might change my thoughts.   Any insight?

The CF pipes should stay cooler if you plan on taking a passenger or luggage.

After 120 miles non-stop in the mountains to the coast at 90+ degrees this Saturday my stainless steel Termis were practically cold 5 minutes after we parked and shut'em down. They weren't ever hot enough to cause a burn on contact when I was running. Of course maybe I was just lucky.

i have ti termi on my 620 from what i learned from people the sound is very similar to the carbon pipes... not identical but similar, in that the carbon pipes supposidly have a slightly more muted sound from teh carbon absorbing some more vibrations, the metal ones will sound slightly metal.. i honestly think its so close its not a big deal.

the thing that is different is price and weight, supposidly the carbon ones will be slightly lighter by a 1lb or so and obviously cost more money... the carbon ones will also not retain heat as much so if that is a problem as far as being able to "touch" them when the bike is running then again taht is somethign to take into consideration.

are the stainless one's cooler than stock while running?

I really hate the amount of heat generated by the stock.
