The only shortened tail (beyond the standard tail chop) I've ever seen that I liked, is the Tesio body kit. This might be my favorite execution of it:







And then there is the; "DUCATRON"...which I believe exists only as a photoshop rendering...and should probably stay that way, as I'd imagine it would be like the girl in the bar at last call when the lights come on..

As with any modification one does the 'their' motorcycle, because they wanted to, plain and simple.
