I have an '09 M1100 with the comfort seat (the one with the red stitching) and the DP tail bag.

I recently purchased the DP soft saddle bags from a board member and finally got to playing with them tonight. (Eel, the brackets just barely fit with the Evotech tailtidy!)

I cannot get the "base" of the tail bag onto the seat with the brackets for the saddle bags mounted! The bottom of the "base" hit the brackets keeping me from lining up the holes in the "base" with the seat holes.

Does anyone else have this setup? Am I missing something obvious?

Upload pics Mark. I want to see how you installed the brackets. The bags should install on the outer bracket not inside the pocket. I think I sent them to you attached.

My biggest concern was if you cleared the exhaust. Sounds like you did

Eel, exhaust clearance was a non issue. The relocated blinkers only JUST fit. The problem i have is with the bottom of the tail base base not allowing room for the saddle bag frame. Each of them (tailbag and saddle bags) work fine individually,  just not together.

Howie, i am out of town until this weekend. I'll put together a photo essay this weekend.

Unless I'm wrong this video indicates it's possible

Well, I got everything to work together, it just took way more effort than I thought it should have.

It almost seems like the two luggage parts were developed separately then someone figured out; "Hey, they almost fit together!"

With a VERY minor design change to the base of the tail bag everything would fit perfectly.

Eel, the video you posted gave me the confidence to just push a little harder to get everything to work.

Thanks guys!
