Have you tried adding maple syrup yet?

Definitely not [laugh]

I see you trying to turn my Long Islands into a nor'easter.  Not on my watch. [laugh]

I have sweet and sour mix and have tried that.

Lemon juice and simple syrup seems to be the alternative. I'm skeptical that it would produce a noticeable difference though.

I did try a recipe that used 2 tbsp of lemon juice and much more than a splash of Coke to balance that out. It was drinkable but not the greatest.

But again I think the change in rum made a huge difference.

You could give your favorite bartender a huge tip for the recipe and save a huge chunk of time and money.

It's all about the money.

I'd have to go to bars and then find a favorite bar tender though.

I'm going to guess that would cost more than if I would just figure it out on my own at home

There's the dream team right there. I'm still going to pick up some white tequila but I'm pretty happy with the ingredients I currently have.
