Sequential tail light

Just installed it on my 821.. works good for a few seconds  then blinks funny then stops blinking totally... any ideas? Tia

Blinking brake light or integrated turn signals or something else? Known good manufacturer or rubbish cheap stuff?

Not that it makes me suddenly know what's wrong, but good to know what the starting point is.
