This is my first time rebuilding forks on my 2005 Monster 1000s ie.  I have watched every video imaginable and I do have a shop manual as well.  I have it all apart and noticed an issue.  My shop manual specifically states that when re-installing the spring, ensure that the end with the tighter coils face the bottom.  When I took the forks apart, the springs tighter coils were facing up.  I am the second owner so I am not sure if these forks have ever been torn down before but it only had 6,000 miles on it when I bought so I doubt it has ever been serviced before.  So which is it, tight coils up or down?  Thanks in advance gentlemen!

If the springs are the same diameter on either side than it doesn't matter...also check to see if one end fits the spacer better than another...other than that the spring direction is inconsequential

Yes, the diameter is the same on both ends.  I was wondering if it even made a difference which side was up actually.  Just wanted to get it put back together exactly as it should be is all.  Thanks for the response!
