who's got the termi/ecu kit on their 695? (cough-misleading-title-cough)

so what did you do with your OEM chip? I totaled the bike surrounding my DP ECU and I'm looking for some help in the form of a stock ECU. I posted in the Parts wanted board but that's kinda like the blood and plasma center of the DMF (no offense to the 3 people that looked :P ).

But for what it's worth: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=8872.0

I want to get back into another 695 so I want to keep some things I put on the bike.  here's my problem; I have the DP ECU but I got it under warranty so it's value isn't reflected in the settlement. I want to take it out but then it won't run   does anyone have their stock ECU after doing the termi/chip upgrade? or does the dealer just keep them?  how much are stock ECUs worth anyhow-- I can't even imagine a market for one considering how much they cripple the bike and ducati charges almost as much as the dp part for a new one.

with the settlement I'm 1-2k shy of the asking price for a used 695 and that jumps to 3k if I have to replace this chip.  also considering a red s2r 800 which don't need a DP ecu but IMO needs some black paint on every thing red except the frame.  in which case this chip will be in the classified section for much less than the $1100 list price or the obligatory $1500 kit.

one more thing: are the brains of the imobilizer in the ecu (I thought they were in the dash but everything on ebay sells keys, dash and ecu together)?  is this just a simple swap or will I have issues with the immobilizer.  they didn't have my red key when they installed the DP unit.

any help is appreciated.

yep- won't work... but if your bike is totaled etc and you have access to it why can't you just take it out?  They are not going to look at that, if it's not running what difference does it make?  What I'm sayin is that you could put a stock ecu in there, the bike won't run but how is anyone going to know the difference let alone care.  I've already just gone thru a totaling process- didn't seem like anyone gave a hoot one way or the other, just took the bike away.  No one at the salvage yard is going to track that down they'll just part it, scrap or heap it.

I say go for it  [thumbsup]

thanks guys

guess I'll be in the market for s2r or 620-- or a chip'd 95

I'd take it out if i hadn't already told the adjuster I was gonna swap it-- I'm sure he's gonna turn the key.  besides he's being real cool about the value and mods.  it's just a shame-- Its all cosmetic aside from the bars and rearset.  but who knows maybe something else is tweeked.  never thought this day would come and kinda blidsided with all all the ins and outs of insurance.  I just wanted some paint and a new lid-- oh well, live and learn

should I turn over the red key? [evil] ( just kidding -- already blabed about that to the adjuster too anyway)

I would swap it out anyway. All he can do is ask for it back...
