I have a new (used) "06" S2R Dark.  I've had it for 2 weeks now and I loooove it.  I parked in front of my friends house and when he left the house in the morning he backed into the Duc!!!!!!   We went over to it...tipped over...and picked it up.  When I went to look for the kickstand I was horrified to see oil spilling all over the place.  The kickstand snapped off a piece on the oil pan from the pressure of the car.  I think that is all that happened to it, I still have to have the frame looked at but he didn't back into it real hard, the weight of the car just snapped the kickstand off.  Does anyone have any idea if this will total the bike...any suggestions.  I'm just flustered right now, just happened a couple hours ago and I want my Duc back!!!!

That depends on your ins and maybe his.  Your engine case is cracked and will most likely need to be replaced.  As you might expect, this won't be a cheap job.

Bummer man

well I'm not paying for it!!!

then you better make sure your buddy is, or someones insurance is.

His insurance is gonna take care of it for sure, thats already worked out, and every little tiny scratch is going to be fixed.  It just tears me apart to know that its not "perfect" anymore.  Also I'm worried about whether it'll be totaled or not because its already slightly modified and I don't want to have to go through it again.

Can you put it back to stock real quick?

No i'm just saying I don't want to have to go through the process of finding another bike that is comparable in price and mileage...go through the process of getting the loan and taking care of the old loan...and then spend the money to modify it.

desmopr

Just let his insurance take care of it.  The dealer should make it "perfect" again for a couple of thousand dollars.  Bummer though man  :-[  Maybe you can squeeze off some money for mods.  Good luck!!

It sucks but it's just a machine. Do the paperwork and get it repaired. Good luck!
