I wanna see a pic of the beam pattern at night w/hid.  The 696 headlight looks great, would look even better on the front of my s4rt... and if the beam pattern is good :)

really?! sweet i will have to look into mounting them there.  GL with your lighting setup Raux.

BTW the company posted in the beg. of this thread seems really good.  they will even do a hybrid kit for only 15 dollars extra(basically they will give you 2 ballast/igniters, but with an H7 and an H1 instead of 2 of only one bulb type).  i thought that was really cool of them to allow custom orders like that.  plus you cant beat the size of those ballast...i have never seen any that small before.

where did you see that you can get one H7 & one H1? i can't seem to find it.

also do you guys think these will work/fit? if so i'm gonna order me some and give it a try...

rosstermyer

i called them and they said they could do that, but only on phone orders.

OK took apart the bike today.

Not sure there's space under the tank panels that's enough for the light ballasts. i think if you mount them to the front of the airbox in the frame area, maybe. or maybe even where the horn is mounted.

I have other things to note not related to the lights, but I'll start a new thread.

im assuming the low beam is a daytime running beam like on my old monster. im not sure id run an HID bulb/ballast in the low beam. ull be replacing a lot of expensive bulbs. i plan on going with a xenon halogen low and an HID highbeam on my new bike

ok just to clarify there are 3 bulbs in the 696 headlight unit

H7, H1 and H5W (the middle light)

you need to replace all three if you want pure white.

Wow just the thread I've been looking for!! Anywho, has anyone been successful using this kit yet? If so, where did you mount the balast?

Thanks,

Pete
