After having a clean driving record I finally got a ticket its a whopper too 3 offenses on the same ticket.  One offense including speeding, which I was doing but the car was a unmarked car and I thought it was someone trying to run me off the road at which at the time I speed up to see if he was on my tail took him a while he caught up I finally saw the flashing lights pulled over and took my ticket reluctantly.  Now thats over what are my options I am planning on appealing just looking to see if anyone out there has gone through something similar or, have recommendations of my course of action.

Thanks,

a) pay up........quick and painful
b) go in and try and bargain it down ( they will often give lower points, fines, etc... if they know you arent going to fight it in court)
c) fight it in court. but do some serious research first, and then pay attention in court. if your lucky, you will sit and watch a bunch of others try and beat their tickets first. that will give you an idea how the D.A. works the offender in front of the judge. take notes. you might get lucky.

Was actually thinking about getting council for this one.  Got a couple names from people I know not sure if it will help or not.

Checked Mass does not do point reduction for traffic school attendance.  I was thinking the same thing.   Thanks thought

Hmmm, then I think the only reasonable thing to do is fight it. Prepare your defense based on your thought he was trying to run you off the road. Now, here's what I would do. Wait until the last minute (a day or 2) before the court date and ask for an extension. They will likely grant it. About a week before the extension date see if they will give you another one. If they do, great if not, show up. Plead not guilty and waive your right to a speedy trial and get the court date set out as far as you can.

One of two things could happen. When the court date comes around (at this point several months after the ticket was issued) the officer will likely not have a very good memory of the event and will have to rely on any notes he wrote at the time. This could make it easier for you to question him and make him look like he doesn't know what he is talking about. Or, he could just not show up and the case will be dismissed for failure to prosecute.

Good luck with that one with the Mass State Trooper. >:(

Beating Tickets is not hard and a well prepared person can have a lot of success  ;) It will take some time to reach the level of preparation needed but it is by no means impossible and they can't increase your fine and a lot can go right.

This website is the bible for beating tickets in Massachusetts. Read it all and follow their advice...
