Popeye the Sailor

Where did it come from and why do you ask?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Is a black padded thing with velcro attached to it sitting on linoleum.   :P

- DING! DING! DING!  Give that man a prize!  You're exactly right.  You can double your points by saying what it's used for.

It came with my 695 which has the Termi Package, including ECU and Air Filter.  I guess the dealer mechanic took it off b/c it was shoved in the box with the stock pipes, stock air filter, and stock ECU.

It's a pad that velcros to the underside of the tank.

I was never exactly clear on its intended purpose.

Sound insulation?

Heat insulation for the gas in the tank?

Does your bike have it?  Wonder if I should put it back on there.

You can see what's left of mine in this pic...

...it's the piece of melted shit hanging along the inside of the tank and some pieces sitting on top of the 2x4 tank prop.

And I just had it on there b/c it came with it and I never really had a reason to take it off.  I have no idea if it actually serves a useful purpose.

I keep mine on.  It cut down on irritating (to me) valve train noise.

you could run it w/ and w/o the padding to see for yourself  [thumbsup]

it just sits under your tank and kinda surrounds the airbox

Yeah.   :-\  That was before I started wearing earplugs though.
