I now own an abused 2005 S2R 800 Dark and have already gathered a lot of great info about this bike on this forum. This is my first bike after a long hiatus from riding and dodging the cagers in DC has been real exciting.   It has quite a bit of deferred maintenance, but I got a screaming deal.  Once I get caught up on the service, my overall plan is to make this a very dark/ratty bike. I plan to install an under bike exhaust (ex-box or boomtubes), clip-ons, and rear sets eventually.  I will also bob the tail and start with the flat black treatment on the silver parts.

Thanks in advance to this great resource,

Welcome Angler, and congrats on the bike! [thumbsup]

Good luck getting it into shape, lots of experts here to help.  Sounds like you've already been bitten by the modding bug. ;D

Welcome

IF you haven't spotted it yet, the DC folks have a local area section on here aka CAM.  There's quite a number of Monster folks in the area and we also play host to the Regional official DOC.

The CAM gang gathers up on Wednesday evenings, usually in Arlington at Rhodeside Grill for a little in person socializing.

-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Well, I had it back from the shop (see http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=11871.msg203839#msg203839 for a report) for about a week and then left town on business for two!  I swear I'll take some pics next week........I am totally missing the bike right now.
