temperature shows flashing "dashes" on M900ie?

The temperature just started showing flashing dashes.... I checked the connections and all seem to be good.  Is there a test procedure to tell if the sensor is bad?  (e.g. different ohm readings at different temps)  It shows this even after running for 30 minutes or so, and also at startup.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Before getting all fancy, check that the connector at the sensor is tight and clean.  The --- usually is from an open circuit.  If the connection is good, you can use a test light as a sensor.  Connector to test light to ground.  Depending on the resistance of the bulb you should see LO, a number or HI.

Yeah, I'm an idiot.  I found that the connector was loose under the boot.  I thought it was a connector like a spark plug, but it is a straight clip under the round boot.  It had slipped up into the boot collar, so re-connecting fixed it.

Thanks for the reply!  Hopefully this will help someone else in the future!
