A water cooled 696 - that IS custom. :)  This bike looks great.
I NEED to know where that relocated overflow tank came from.

I normally don't do bling for the sake of bling, but those are monoblocks aren't they? Like em
And I'm wondering if the  Brake-Tech rotors are the protective coating that comes on ductile iron rotors or ceramic. I'm thinking ceramic. Spend that kind of money on the other stuff - why not?
The subframe and the trellis are cool in my book.
The Undertail exhaust looks to be large dia, but not too large - way cool.
That is a 1098 swingarm and I like it.
The engine must be a desmo quattro judging by the distance between the cams.

Do something like this with a 1098 in it and sign me up. Maybe even a slightly detuned 1199 - pull stumps with it. [thumbsup]

Yea, somebody's been very busy and has a whole lot more money than I do.

Is it really accurate to call this a heavily modded 696? It seems as thought the only parts they kept are the frame, tank and headlight. When you replace the engine, complete front end, complete rear end with what appears to be 1098 parts, then it might be more accurate to call it a heavily modded 1098.

I agree. The only thing about this bike that's a 696 is the frame, tank, headlight, and seat cowl. It's a sweet set up, but not a 696. At least we get an idea of what you can do with a M1100.  [thumbsup]

Those brake rotors are the standard iron BrakeTech parts, that's how they look right out of the box.
The ceramic rotors are a different color, kinda funky brownish gray, and they don't have the holes.

The motor is a Desmoquattro SBK unit, pretty sure it's a 916/996.

That overflow tank looks like the standard SBK part as well (actually, it's a 'header' tank, it would need an overflow tank too).

Brake and clutch reservoirs are still in a box somewhere, along with the brake lines and wiring harness, hopefully there's some kind of airbox or air filters in that box too.

There's a bunch of work left to do on it, that's for sure.

Think about this.

HOW much time and effort went into making that 696 what it "should" have looked like in the first place?

It's a great custom.  But that's what Ducati should have done in their design studios.

So, take the cost of a 696, add all the extras, a custom undertail exhaust, and finally get a good looking bike.

It's still no Monster, but that's subjective for sure.  It'd need a trestle frame for that. . .  ;)

That bike is awesome. Looks so slick it makes me think it was done by DNA, although it's not finished. Front axle's not aligned, clutch hose is missing, etc. Maybe some dealer's ongoing project. Undertail exhaust is hot, some intense fabrication work. That's a hot bike with some very expensive parts.
