One more question.  Do you know which Diablos will be on sale?

The regular, ole, plain-jane Diablo......I think Cycle Gear refers to them as the "Diablo Street" tire.

So obviously you run them on your bike.  How do you like them and what kind of riding do you do.  I do a lot of Highway miles but get on the twisties as much as possible.  That is why I was looking into the Diablo Stradas since they are supposed to hold up longer with highway miles.  I definitely want Pirelli tires so if you think the regular ones will do me fine let me know.

My wife and I ride fairly aggressively and all of our sport and sport-touring tires see 80%-90% mountain twisty roads at above-speed-limit speeds. I have never had a problem with traction with the standard Diablo in the wet or dry or even 35 to 105 degrees. On the down side these days, I believe we are averaging around 2000-2500 miles on a rear and 3000-3500 miles on a front before seeing cord. Similarly, the Diablo Stradas give us about 500-1000 miles more on each end. I have no problems with traction with the Strada, either, but.........from a cost perspective, a Strada rear is running around $150-ish and a front is $120-ish. You can get this Diablo package for $180.

Personally, if I have to pay regular pricing, I'd get the Stradas. With these Cycle Gear sales, I figure I can't go wrong, so I stock up on them for the price.

I prefer the Diablo Strada. My wife really likes them, also, but I think she leans more toward the Michelin products...

These are the tires we've run over the last five years or so...
Dunlop - D207, D208, D220, and Qualifiers
Bridgestone - BT-020
Metzeler - ME-Z6
Michelin - Pilot Sport, Pilot Power, Pilot Roads, and the new 2CT (currently on the Monster)
Pirelli - Dragon, Dragon EVO, Dragon Supercorsa, Diablo, Diablo Corsa, Diablo Strada, Diablo Corsa III, and Diablo Supercorsa Pro.

There may be another tire or two, but I don't remember. We've run through over 40 tires just in the last three years.

My god, 40 tires in the last 3 years.  That is amazing.  I am going to check out the diablos when they go on sale and probably go that way to get me through next summer.   Thanks for all the answers man. [thumbsup]

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Nope. I have a buddy who is running the model that is all the rav that Continental has. I have no idea which model it is, though. I'm waiting for him to run through this set and see how they compare to others that he's run. He rides similarly to my wife and I, so it'll be interesting to hear what hs has to say about them. I know that, so far, he really seems to like them......I'd heard some really good things about some Avon tires over the last few years. I don't have any first-hand experience with them.
