I got laughed at by some hot chicks at a stop light because my clutch is so noisy. I'm guessing they thought my scoot was broken. That was not cool. Yes they were blond. No I did not get pics.

Better than getting laughed at by some redneck in a shitty rapist van because you stalled it out a stop sign...  :bang

Ah, who cares?  Surely you wouldn't be interested in chicas who don't know what a dry clutch looke/sounds like...even if they're hot.  Right? ;:|

TCK!

A wheelie from the stop sign would have cured that laughter :D (I'm not a big wheelie-r though so I probably would have just ignored them)

I am still undecided if I like the sound of the dry clutch. I love the feel of it on my monster but I have been hesitant to open it up. I was at a dealer last Saturday getting service and they had a 999 with an open clutch. That thing was soo friggen loud it was annoying. But later on another guy picked up his 748 with an open clutch and it sounded nice. Not as loud but still noticeable.

What determins how loud your clutch is? Sorry for the noob question.  ???

That's the only thing I wish my 750 had.  I love the sound.  I'm guessing different covers give different sound levels ~

I'm not too partial to the sound of the dry clutch, but it was iconic that's for sure.

A few things.  As noted, an open clutch cover will allow more sound out.  Also wear on the friction plates/basket will allow the plates to rattle more - thus more noise.  Different plate and basket materials have some effect too, but it's usually tonal not just volume

A plate stack and basket with close fits will be pretty quiet, where as a worn set of plates can sound like a handful of bolts in a coffee can.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

It's a monster, the whole point is replacing perfectly good stuff with aftermarket stuff!  wt:
