Monster 1100 now officially announced

As ugly as the 696...just more expensive
I rather put some Oehlins on my door stopper.
And then you need another 3000 to get rid of the donkey ears, the exhaust canisters and the other fugly toy parts.
But anyway..
If anyone is selling their S2R /4 just let me know.
I just wanna see the Hyperfighter...

i still think the exhaust canisters are a tragedy, and i'm still not sold on the tank, but the 1100 is certainly much easier on the eyes than the 696.

I love the Silver and do agree that Ducati could have done more with the M1100 but in the other hand, I'm glad it is very similar to the M696. Hopefully there will be more mods for this monster line.

and i OWN a 696.....!
ducati needs to get rid of the engineers and get a DESIGNER again...
where the classic bikes, 996,998,s4rs were voluptuous italian objets
with classic lines that flowed for miles,
this bike is an abominition of generic cookie cutter pieces pasted together.
theres no flow or rhythm to this bike,
it a freakin' hunchback that ends at the handlebars,
that pug nose dead-ends the lines of the bike and kills it.
of course the pipes suck, everybody changes them anyway, so no argument there....
glad to see the SSS but its awfully tall in the ass,
looks lke a german streetfighter, need to clean up the space around the rear end if youre
going to show it off with a SSS, it looks like a jacked-up redneck 4x4 to me....
what a shame.

All the arguments for the 696 can be used here too.

It looks like 2 separate bikes if you draw a line down the center.

The vents and rear sets are just wrong.

This new monster series is certainly a polarizing machine.  It seems you either love it or hate it.

Its alright i actually like the look of the 696 better the SSS just looks so out of place with that design.  Don't get me wrong i LOVE the SSS but something about it just doesn't look right to me on that frame.  As someone said previously it might be how high its sitting with it.  I need to see one in person before i pass any more judgment.

Well, for all those that hoped the new S2R was going to look different than the 696.....there you go.  No change except the swing arm.  I said it in another thread.....there is no way Ducati was going to tool up and redesign the Monster and not use the parts on the other models.  I knew it'd look exactly like the 696.  

I was wrong about the swingarm though....thought they'd keep the 696 arm.  But other than that looks exactly like I thought it was going to.
