I get the fat girl in the pink mini skirt part, but what do the oakleys have to do with the comparison?

It's all part of the Oakley/Ducati cross-marketing.  (it was a pink Puma miniskirt, BTW)

The swingarm is a huge improvement  over the ugly POS that was on the S*R.

???

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but just in case, get your eyes checked.  ;D

Very nice looking bike. I have enjoyed my 696 a lot, even though it's cold as hell here already, I can't quit riding it :D I think this one is going to be even better. Especially the fact that it is going to be the lightest bike in it's category. They didn't make it this year as the best naked of the year, but there is good potential for the next year now :)

I like the idea of better forks, but i wish they weren't gold on the M1100S.

Might have to do the "murdered" black vinyl tubing on them.

(of course i'm not buying one until the eventual price drop)
Red 696- You can call her Isabella.

Do you think the used price of the old full trellis monsters will not depreciate as much anymore. I'm thinking my 05 620 might be worth more if they don't make them like that anymore. I don't like the old design, and if I were to upgrade to a higher displacement, I guess I have to look in the classifieds for the 'good' monster....

I'm sorta sad...  :-[

That's got to be definite proof Ducati is listening to us.

Now if Zard would just make an exhaust like the one at Indy.

The old one flowed well with trellis frame and I considered it a work of art.

By no means was it a POS  ???

Well, it's not totally ugly.  It just doesn't move me.  The older style with the trellis frame was IMHO simply a beautiful bike...simple and elegant.  The new style looks really plastic.  While the minimalist lines of the original bikes were its defining feature, the lines on the new bike are chaotic.  Its almost as if Ducati is trying hard to mimic the style of Japanese bikes.

The new monster is OK, I think that the exhaust would have to go right away. Ill wait until I see one in the flesh.
I would of preferred a lighter bike to an increase in power or engine capacity.
I wont be getting rid of my 1000s ie, i still love the look of the old generation monster with the DSS arm.
