I helped a fallen rider yesterday

Yesterday morning I am driving to Long Beach Island, NJ, on Route 72 about 1/2 a mile from the causeway to LBI.  A hundred yards in front of me the traffic suddenly parts and I see a plume of dust come up from the left lane.  As I get closer I see a denim clad rider walking  up the road on the left median, and the cars have all driven around some kind of clustermake the beast with two backs ahead.

Someone in the right lane had swerved to the right shoulder and threw open his door.  The rider watched this happen, but the two seconds he watched that were two seconds he didn't see the light ahead turn red and the traffic stop in front of him.  He had basically laid his big ole Harley dresser down on its left side and let it slide out of the way into the grass median on the left.

Amazingly, someone else stopped to help before I did! [clap].  The guy got SUPREMELY lucky - his folding footboard, highway peg and rear saddle bag took the brunt of the grinding on the road.  He only had a small tear in the right elbow of his jean jacket.  He had some adrenaline flowing but was otherwise good to go.

All I did was help him pull his bike back up, check it over, walk him though getting it out of gear ;D, and giving the bike a once over.  I also kept looking him in the eye to make sure he was OK to finish his ride.

I hope this helps my "karma bank" and I also realized... I really miss riding... :'(

Just had to share.

I think the karmic pendulum has definitely been given a shove in the right direction.

Nice job Tommy!  [thumbsup]

I'm sure that si a few karma points in the bank.

Amazing how many people don't stop
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.
