Suck day. :'(

Calvin (13 years 9 months) was diagnosed with kidney disease 8 months ago. Antibiotics kept it at bay since and his quality of life has been acceptable. The last month or so he has been stumbling when he walked and not eating as much. The last three days were progressively worse. I found him hidden in closet this morning and he wouldn't eat when I took him out. I put him in his favorite place, lounging in the sun in the back yard, but later found him in the shade in the bushes drooling.

We took the drive over to his vet and unlike all the other drives where he howled and cried this time he was silent. I got to spend a few minutes with him before he faded away. Hopefully he knew I just wanted to make sure he wasn't hurting.

He has been a great cat, very sweet and gentle with the other pets we have brought in. Its going to be hard to get used to not having him around.

His favorite spot, in the sun on a warm jacuzzi...

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

That sucks.

Calvin looked very much at peace on top of the jacuzzi.  [thumbsup]

Sorry for  your loss.

:(

Sorry to hear.

You did the right thing though. Calvin couldn't have asked you for a better life. Keep that in mind.

That's a hard thing, but you did right by him. RIP, Calvin.

No doubt Calvin is resting forever peacefully.  Sounds like he had a wonderful life ~ and what a privilege to be there with him as he moved to the next.

Get used to "seeing" him around the house for a while.  It's been almost a year and I still have moments of seeing my old girl out of the corner of my eye.  It's weird.

This thread needs some lightening up.

This is my cat oliver. He is a maincoon ragdall. He isnt stretching in this picture, this is how he just lays around the house. I keep yelling at him to stop being so lazy and get a job and start contributing. He loves to be held like a baby (he purrs louder when you hold him)

This is Luna. My girlfriends cat. She hates me.... well not really but she definitely gets depressed when her mother leaves. She is a siamese lynx point. She also loves this heating pad.
