I went out to 337 three weeks ago, great ride. 337 is a mess just east of Leaky, nasty construction that looks like it will definitely last into next spring. But the ride out there is great and the east end of 337 is probably the most challenging and fun. I've done that ride out and back 3 times this year and it's always worth it. There's a crew of sport bikes that head down from Kerrville on the weekends to run that section of 337 and they're amazing riders. This weekend is booked up (Harvest Classic and a track day), but next weekend is a possibility if the weather permits. Let me know if you're interested in a day trip.

Believe just about everyone from DFW and THCM will be out there this weekend.

The 3 sisters consists of 335, 336 along with 337. It's a great 120 +/- mile route if you do all 3 roads. 337 has had stretches of road work for the last 2+ years, I doubt the work will end any time soon. Aside from that stretch of road under repair it's worth the trip. I've done that ride a handful of times and it's always a blast. Definitely a must do in the list of Texas routes.  [moto]

A couple of things to watch out for:
1. Cattle guards, I think they're on 335, appear at the apex of a turn and on days with mist can pose a real hazard.  :-X
2. Popo, they're pretty much cool with bikers but they ride in Trucks (F-150 style) as well and can fool you into thinking they're a civilian if you're only looking out for the typical squad car.  [leo]
3. Drop-offs.  :o  When the signs states "10 or 15 mph" they really mean what they say. Some of those turn can be pretty scary since they're blind corners. Watch out for opposing traffic.

I'm probably forgetting some other stuff but either way it's a heck of a ride out there. BTW, look out for the homes with camels, giraffes and kangaroos.

And if I may chime in.....the DFW group is going to be there this weekend check their posts on THCM as well as DFWM.....

I concure with Joe, the morning mist can equal to slick roads.....and I believe on 335 it's open range cattle country so ya gotta watch out for cows and such on the road.  Might be a good idea to keep an eye on fuel as if you don't watch for it you can get caught out...(there's lots of gas out there-just kinda spread out).

RipTear goes out there all the time on day trips with cool routes just getting there.....

After the last 2 trips out there, I think it would be worth your while to take a spare shift lever/brake pedal if you can....as those 2 items are in high demand if you slide off...just my .02
Always one to be underestimated

Where are you located?

I've done 337 - 187 - 470, but never the 3 sisters, mainly because I try to be back by Noon on most of my rides.
