I'm trying to change the tire on my 1098 and i need a special size socket for it its a 55mm 12point socket with a built in mandrel to stop it from slipping.  Does anybody have one i could borrow or know of a shop that carry's these locally?

^problem solved, goto page 2  ;)

have you tried calling any of the nearest duc dealer's?  of course today is monday  :P
speedymoto makes one, perhaps one of the shops have one in stock.

otherwise, try posting on DESMO, perhaps someone will let you borrow one?   ;)
I know some like to dismiss DESMO for some reason, I still haven't figured out, to each their own...... but it's a suggestion.  Take it or leave it.

I tried Formula 1, they suggested speedymoto, but they don't stock it going to try goldcoast.

I will give DESMO a shot thanks IG.  If all else fails guess i will next day air one off of ebay heh

Are you trying to take that nut off? On my S2R1000 is this spring retainer and 1 nut that looks pretty freakinig large. I just use a massive Spanner wrench.  Home depot carries it them.

55mm 12point socket

I have a set (left and right) for my S4RS but I don't remember the exact size at the moment but I think the 1098 is larger.  I'll check when I get home tonite.

Yeah im trying to take it off, but from what i can gather its a special size for the 1098 and they taper the points differently too.  Figures.....well i really cant complain owning a ducati was never supposed to be easy, otherwise i would have a Honda

My point exactly  ;)

FL the S4R is a 42mm i believe so it would not fit, thanks though!

Thanks for all the fast responses all!  I found one on EBay for 30$ and it has the socket for the front wheels too.  Will be here thursday, just in time for a weekend of hooliganism!
