Looking at new coils

So after much dicking around with the crap in my tank that the ethanol in the gas was eating, I got my tank lined and hopefully that will fix it.  It's a great liner that holds up well against ethanol.  I'm still going to avoid it like the plague, but just in case...

So that brings me to my next problem.  I had suspected that my coils were starting to go bad, and I have gotten to that time where they need to go.  These coils were free to me (thanks, Zooom), but they are yet again 9+ year old coils.  I just need to get a new set.

So the question is, do I just get a set of stockers, or do I go to Dynacoils?  How difficult are they to install?

Dynacoils. You're bike will start much better and run smoother. I had them on my M944.

If I remember correctly, Chris Kelley sells the Dyna Coils as a plug and play kit.

Make sure you can remove the spark plug wires from your stock coils.  If not, you will need new wires.

Yeah, I just ordered his kit.  IIRC, in his write up of his kit, he includes wires, but I could be mistaken.  But yes, I can remove the wires, so no matter which way, I'm good.  I was pretty sure that I was going to get the answer just to get the Dynacoils kit.  Chris's kit includes all the bracket modification and such, so it should be a quick job.

Excellent news, Chris.  I've always gotten such speedy service from you and you always sell top notch stuff that is guaranteed to work well with the bike.  Not so for other places, but I've learned my lesson!

I second the Dyna Coil kit.

Very easy install and your bike will start easier.  I laughed out loud when I had the stock coils side by side with the Dyna ones.  Stockers are so tiny.  [roll]

I also noticed a small improvement  at low rpms when starting to roll on the throttle.

Great mod.
