This is getting good.  Ben is unbelievable!  All it takes are a couple of DNF's on Haga and Ben will have a chance.  Anything can happen, it is still early enough in the season.  It makes for good TV too [beer]
Fabrizio is closer to Spies than Spies is to Haga, couple more DNFs by Spies and Fabrizio will be second

Elbowz should have 12 wins and the points lead after today. [roll]

I was hoping Sykes was gonna take out Haga in the second race in the last lap to even the score.

I guess it keeps us on the edge of our seats.
Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

Hey yeah that'd be great, kinda like ice hockey only at 180mph. [roll]

I guess I needed to use the  [laugh] [cheeky] or  ;D at the end of that sentence.  I thought it was an obvious laugher but. . .

pt. 1 of soup interview: http://superbikeplanet.com/2009/Aug/090810spiesinterview.htm

in the silly season thread we were talking about how new the new bike really is.. this was interesting:

Q There's been give and take on both sides, for this being a learning experience, but I think people don't realize this has been probably almost as much a learning experience for the team as it's been for you.

A Yeah. Again, they've got two new riders, two crew chiefs, two bikes, that - the team is used to the World Superbike circuit and all that, but I can just tell you from what I know about the bike I rode last year, Haga's bike, when we try to make the gearboxes go on the tracks, we don't always hit it just because the bikes are so far different and it's - it looks pretty similar to the old R1, but the bike is very different. It's still - it's got a lot of potential, and we're not even close to what it can do yet. We're just breaking through and just a lot of different things, just how the crank, the way it produces power is good, and the crank in a lot of ways is good, and sometimes the way the rotating mass is too, you've got to - on different corners, it affects how it enters the corner, it affects how it flicks left to right. There's a lot of changes that we can make. We're still all learning, so it's a big - it's a big year for both the rider and the team.

pt 2 - Spies takes a poke at DMG....

"...I was thinking about riding a jet-powered bike in DMG. That might be fun. (laughs)"
