Went Down....

My mistake. I always preech, eyes on the road 24/7. Well i took mine of the road for a second and went down.

Car in front looked like they were gonna keep going. Nope. They stopped. It was slippery so I decided to brake in the middle so i have room to stop.

From there on, the bike basically ended up underneath a car. Not sure what happened.

It happened on flatbush extention, known for its millions of pot holes and bumps + me running a pretty squared of rear tire. Im pretty sure i lost the front end and just slapped over. Ended up putting 3 popcorn size dents on the lower passenger door of a old mazda. exchanged the information and went on. Driver said, dont worry about it, its not even worth fixing, as long as your okay. So I guess i got by with this one.

Damage:

The gauges are no longer part of my bike other than the wiring.
Lost my left mirror
bent handle bar, though the clip ons might of just moved out of position since they are 3 way adjustable.

Sliders kept the bike up. thanks rizoma. was wearing half gear. One of my friends this morning in my class said to me, i should always wear boots.

Well. By god. this was one of the times i decided not to. Burned the crap out of my ankle. Otherwise, helmet kept my head from slamming into the door.

Sorry to hear and glad you are okay. That's an awful stretch of road with potholes, craters, diesel oil... even in the car, I wince every time I take it...

Well official damage report...  bent steering stop and bent rim (though the bent rim was probably form hitting that pot hole back on the FDR...time to make a claim with NYC.) broken gauge mounts (the rubber boot) and theres a bit of my skin left on my exahust pipe.

Glad you are pretty much OK.  If the steering stop is not bent too badly adjustment may work.  Make sure the threaded rod on the slider did not bend.

nah, it wasn't me.  I was the one with white/red S4RS  [moto] and we met at Perkins point in Bear Mountain last year that same day.

haha, I remember you. But that was before i spilled the bike. Ironically, its almost been 1 year to that day cause i got my registration that week (would be 1 year next week).

sucks coudlnt even get by with 1 year.

Now if i can get my leg to stop bleeding...maybe i should start the bike up and put my leg on it so itll cauterize my wound.
