So I've got @ 250 miles on my new 696. One of the things I have been having a tough time with was  slow tight turns.
And then I remembered something from my MTII class. Slow tight turns, (like in parking lots, U-turns) require a
different technique. In other turns  you are leaning with the bike, in the slow tight turn you are using a counterweighting
technique. You're leaning your upper body toward the outside of the turn. What a difference this made for me.
I am not a 100% there, but an improvement overall.

Bingo!  Also keep in mind that Monsters are famous for their wide turning radius.  That big tank and low bars mean less movement of the bars lock to lock than on most bikes.  So with a Monster you need to lean the other way sooner than on most other bikes.

something else that helps is to find that friction zone and throttle position and then use the rear brake to control speed.  That way your not constantly revving and working the clutch.
